About this course

Enjoy a talk about the history of topiary and a practical demonstration on cutting techniques, followed by a hands-on workshop to create your own topiary to take away.

Course Description

Gain inspiration for topiary in garden settings, from embryo plans to finished topiary, and take home tips on care and maintenance. The tutor will demonstrate cutting techniques and explain about the shortcuts to creating strong shapes. This will be followed by a hands-on workshop to create your own topiary to take away.

Students should arrive by 9am for registration.

Classes are from 9.15 - 5pm

Lunch is included.

Course Materials

Included

  • A plant for you to create your topiary specimen is included.

What students need to bring

  • A notebook and pens/pencils
  • A pair of secateurs and gloves
  • Sturdy covered boots/shoes are essential in the studio; also bring outdoor clothing for wet/sunny weather.

Additional information

Please wear appropriate clothing/aprons for the workshop or studio, this includes stout covered footwear (no sandals or open toes).
