About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

The UK is home to over 70 species of longhorn beetle (Cerambycidae) that can be found occurring in natural habitats that have been recorded to date. Some of the larger species have interesting patterns and colouration, making them relatively easy to recognise in the field.

This presentation will explore some of the larger and more distinctive British longhorn beetle species, with tips on their ID features, ecology and distribution - as well as where and how you might find them. At the end of the session, learners should feel more comfortable submitting records of these fascinating beetles to iRecord.

The 90-minute event will consist of a 1-hour presentation followed by a Q&A with the tutor using questions provided by the live audience.

This webinar is the first in a series of 2 webinars from the National Longhorn Beetle Recording Scheme. Check out Part 2 here
