For much of the year, plants are not in flower. Many can still be identified using other features.  This course explores how to do this using Poland & Clement’s “The Vegetative Key to the British Flora”.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate understanding of how to use a key successfully
  • Display confidence in identifying flowering plants

Who should attend? – A basic understanding of botanical species and terminology would be beneficial for this course.

Knowledge level – Intermediate. Level descriptors can be found on the following web-page: Framework and Course Level Descriptors

Prior knowledge – No prior knowledge will be assumed; participants with at least some prior knowledge may find it a little easier to build on their existing learning, but it isn’t necessary.
