HOW WILL YOU LEARN?

All our courses are designed using modern adult learning practices that build in reflection, relevancy and practice to all our training materials and exercises.

At the start of each training week of the course you will be sent an instructional video that you can watch at your own pace and whenever it suits you best. Sometimes the video will suggest a short activity to complete to help you practice and learn. You can then use these videos, which contain everything you need to know, to revise for the exam.

WHAT WILL THE LIVE TRAINING SESSIONS BE LIKE?

At the end of each training week there will be a live, expert-lead, online group session. Each week there will be two live session times for you to choose from so that it is easier for you to fit them in to your schedule. This session will enable you to work together with your instructor and fellow trainees to really test out and build your confidence in the approach. These sessions are also a great opportunity to build connections with other conservationists from all over the world, working on a wide range of conservation topics.

Live, expert-lead group session during a WildTeam conservation course

One moment you could be chatting to a CEO of a rewilding enterprise from Ireland and the next moment taking to a student studying climate change in Bangladesh. Overall, these sessions will really make your learning experience a richer more enjoyable experience so try to come along if at all possible. However, these live group sessions are not compulsory so if you miss some or even all of them, we will still send you the recordings so that you can catch up on anything you missed.

HOW WILL YOU EARN YOUR CERTIFICATE?

At the end of this course there will be a multiple choice exam, that you have to pass to earn your certificate. Earning your certificate in this way is important to demonstrate to yourself and others (e.g. employers) that you have attained a high standard in this key skill set.

However, the exam is nothing to worry about. If you need more time or any kind of additional support for the exam then the instructor is there to help. Most people pass first time and there is a free retake it for anyone that doesn't.

Once you earn your certificate you will be added to our WildTeam global skills directory.
