Booking is now open for the next ORN Webinar

Date and time: Wednesday 8th December 2021 (11:00-12:30)
Cost: Free for ORN members and £20.00 for non-members

Drawing on new research and insights, this ORN webinar will explore how organisations involved in various aspects of outdoor recreation have responded to the challenges of unprecedented visitor pressure and behaviour in the wake of COVID-19. With views from Wales and Scotland, as well as a wider European perspective, this event will focus on key learnings (and many positive ones) to emerge over the last 18 months – and show how the pandemic has accelerated change on the ground in terms of managing visitor pressures and behaviours – and learning quickly what works, and crucially, what does not!

Confirmed speakers include:

  • 'Visitors on protected landscapes: New Research on the impact of outdoor sports'
Mike McClure - Chair, European Network of Outdoor Sports and Development Officer Active Outdoors, Sport NI
  • 'Changing the way we measure tourism in Snowdonia'
Dana Williams - Sustainable Tourism Officer, Snowdonia National Park Authority
  • 'Encouraging responsible wild camping in post-lockdown Scotland'
Danny Carden - Communications and Engagement Manager, Ramblers Scotland
ORN is keen for other new and innovative approaches to be shared and there will be a discussion session after the presentations for participants to ask questions to the speakers and share further insights and examples of good practice.
